In 1976, five years after Pastors John and Anne Giminez (now Bishop Anne Giminez) began the work at Rock Church in Virginia Beach, a small group of "hungry" Spirit -Filled Christians visited that church. Realizing this was a work of God and for what they had been searching, they prayed for direction from God. God "Smiled" on the Eastern Shore, and Pastors John and Anne sent Pastor Vinny Losciale and family to begin a Rock Church here on the Shore. Paul and Judy Nolz came along with Pastor Vinny and his wife Jan, to help start the church.
For two years the church met in the Joy Dance Studio in Onley. Next it moved to a store front in Onancock on North Street. While in Onancock, a Christian Academy was begun and Pastor Losciale and his family returned to Virginia Beach. Pastor Paul Nolz, who was then serving as Assistant Pastor, was set in as Pastor.
In 1988, God continued to bless this work and a new church building was completed on Route 13 between Onley and Melfa. After the dedication of the building, the congregation and academy moved to our present "home". The Academy continued until 2006 when after much prayer it was discontinued.
We thank God for His faithfulness and blessings in the past years and for the faithfulness of our Pastor. Pastor Nolz has been a wonderful shepherd. We know that God's blessings will remain in the years to come, for He is truly a faithful God.
